Design and illustrate a rock gig poster that catches the attention of a particular scene/target audience. Original hypothetical gig poster for The Cure Halloween Bash. I really wanted to make sure it was dirty, really gritty, and really anti-society. Punk rock is aggressive and rejects the perceived excesses of the mainstream. I wanted to do a Halloween theme because i feel as though there is so much range with an idea like that. I first started by looking up what their current album and gig posters looked like. They are very colorful and surreal, so I wanted to keep that colorfulness and make it gritty. I also gave it a distressed border and stamp-looking text but I integrated the type with the band name into the environment. Originally it had different saturations but I wanted to make all the colors consistent and decided to change the saturation so that it looked more distressed.
